Find out what's typically included in a St. Patrick's Day decorating kit and how to choose the right supplies for your Irish party theme.
Quick Answer
A St. Patrick's Day decorating kit typically includes hanging swirls, streamers, a table cover, and cutouts that match a leprechaun or shamrock theme. The exact pieces vary, so it pays to check the contents before you buy.
Why Kit Contents Differ Between Brands
Some kits focus on tableware, others on hanging decorations. A kit labeled "decorating" might skip plates and napkins entirely, so read the product description rather than just the title.
Price often signals the number of pieces. A $12–$15 kit usually has 8–12 decorative items, while a larger set may include multiple streamers and a table cover.
Common Questions About St. Patrick's Day Decorating Kits
- How many pieces come in a typical kit?
- Most decorating kits in this price range include 10 to 15 pieces. Look for kits that list the exact contents, such as Irish Leprechaun Swirls which clearly state 12 hanging swirls.
- Do these kits include a table cover?
- Not all of them do. Some kits are just hanging decorations or streamers. If you need a table cover, buy it separately or look for a kit that explicitly lists a table cover in the description. Check the product description for "table cover" or "tablecloth" before assuming it's included.
- Can I use Halloween or Easter decor for St. Patrick's Day?
- Yes, if the colors match. A green-and-gold Easter table cover can work, and you can pair it with St. Patrick's Day–themed hanging swirls. Just avoid anything with obvious non-holiday symbols like bunnies or pumpkins. Mix and match with caution; keep the core palette green, gold, and white.
- What if I'm hosting a large party?
- One kit usually covers a standard doorway or table centerpiece. For a large room, buy two or three kits, or supplement with individual streamers and table covers. Purchase extra streamers or table covers separately to ensure full coverage.
Product Facts
- Irish Leprechaun Swirls: Each pack of Lucky Leprechaun Swirls contains 12 danglers: six 18" gold & green metallic swirls, three 24" swirls with 7" double-sided cutouts, and three 24" swirls with 5" double-sided cutouts. This gives you a mix of sizes so you can layer them at different heights across a doorway or mantle for a fuller look.
Irish Leprechaun Swirls - Happy St. Patrick's Streamer: The Happy St. Patrick's Streamer is a 7' long metallic piece that measures 7.25"H x 84"L, sold individually. It's a single accent piece, so you may want to buy multiples or combine with swirls to cover a larger space like an archway or wall.
Happy St. Patrick's Streamer - Easter Color-In Table Cover: The Easter Color-In Table Cover is a paper cover measuring 48" x 36", designed for kids to color during the meal. Though sold as Easter decor, the color-in concept works for a St. Patrick's Day party if you supply green and gold markers or crayons.
